Ahead of the winter Olympic Games in Vancouver in February 2010, the Canadian Government are asking all skiers and snowboarders for their support to get snow enthusiasts to wear ski helmets. It is already compulsory in Italy for children under sixteen to wear a ski helmet when they are skiing or snowboarding. The Canadian Government are hoping to follow suit.
The Vancouver Charter on Skiing Safety wants to ensure people to wear helmets whilst they are enjoying the snow activities before, during and after the Winter Olympics. According to their statistics, head injuries account for 86% of deaths on the slope and 15% of the injuries sustained by skiers and boarders. Currently only 50% of snowboarders and skiers wear a ski helmet, although this figure is rising continuously.
Quiksilver and Roxy have a range of ski helmets that provide you with the safety and protection that you need when you are skiing or snowboarding. They come in a range of difficult colours and patterns, which can be matched to your ski jacket or snow pants.
Wearing your Quiksilver ski helmet can save your life should you have a fall on the slope and prevent any serious head injuries.
