SIMA Surf Summit 2009

The Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) has now confirmed the 2009 dates for their Surf Summit event. This year, the event will be held at a stunning new location in Mexico, the Crowne Plaza Resort Los Cabos in San Jose. This astounding beach resort is a lot closer to key surf spots than the previous year’s venues and is an all inclusive establishment that is bound to impress.

The venue also boasts exquisite food and drink, two colossal pools and all rooms benefit from a gorgeous ocean view to really get people in the spirit of the summit event. Event activities will include guest speakers and previous popular activities such as Cabo Crawl, the Retailer Appreciation Night and the TransWorld SURFari.

Years gone by have proven that the educational aspect to this event is a favoured element. Social surfing and networking time will be allocated as usual, giving surfers the chance to exchange news and tips and learn from each other.

This is the 12th year this event has run and after being postponed in May earlier this year, there may have been doubts as to whether this one would go ahead. Luckily, the SIMA realise that surfers not only want this event, but they need this gathering in order to learn and swap experiences and keep the surfing dream alive, particularly in these struggling times. The event will run from September 30th until October 3rd, and with a brand new luxurious venue, this event is set to be a successful boost for the surfing world.
