The Canadian ski team has high hopes for the Winter Olympics, which start on Sunday. They are full of confidence and have set their sights on winning a medal at the Winter Olympic Games. Of course the expectations of the whole world are on the shoulders of the Canadians because they are hosting the event this year.

Manuel Osbourne-Paradis is one of the favourites going into the men’s downhill skiing at the resort of Whistler, Osborne-Paradis thinks he has a big advantage over his rivals and he is desperately wanting to win big. The last Canadian skier to win a medal was in 1994 and even then it was only a bronze.

There is a buzz in the air around Vancouver and people are waiting patiently for the games to begin. They are dying to see their favourite skier and snowboarder compete in their chosen sport and hopefully get on the podium to receive an Olympic medal.

If you are there watching the events, you will need to wrap up just as warm as the athletes that are taking part. You will see people wearing the latest Quiksilver and Roxy ski wear and they will look absolutely fabulous.
